Understanding the needs

In order to reach successful innovation, customer-centricity is the key. Make sure you actually understand the needs rather than assuming what the needs are.

In designing the solution, make sure you take into account all stakeholders. Make sure you are addressing the relevant target from a business perspective.

Implementing and measuring

Once the roll out phase is reached, the business goals must be clearly stated, as well as the KPIs (both qualitative and quantitative) to measure how successful the app is when it is not a project anymore but business as usual.

e.g. : Ecophon almost doubled (from 50 to 90%) the rate of projects RFQ with the use of their app in customer visits.

How to create a use case?

1. Identify

Identify possible customer groups that could be users of your service

2. Pick

Pick one potential customer

3. Define

Define what the customer/user of your future service wishes to do

4. Draw

Draw a process chart or an use case diagram showing relationships between stakeholders to explain what is expected to happen and between whom

5. Extend

Once this basic course of events is described, consider alternate courses of events to extend the use case
06

6. Repeat

Repeat for other uses and try to see, if some points are in common for several different use cases
